Good news, y’all – a very spectacular weekend is approaching! So you better come and party with us m9(^Д^)

On Friday, May 20th another Spring child – a party concept under the name of Pixel is celebrating its 1st anniversary and welcomes newage-latino-modern-gay-hipsters and all the rest to shake breasts and brake necks in the accompaniment of E:91, Trashy kid, Kodek, Arno, Breakfake, Mario, Sairam, Mixmaster Raitis, Shurez, Jeramy Hollow, Neviens and Hektor Mirage. The nice line-up of the guys will be spread through the both Dirty Deal cafe and Straume in order for you to be thoroughly Pixelized.

On Saturday, May 21st we will move outside to our terrace and host an open-air concert of Riga super friends – LAN from Berlin. Sure, they need no intro, but for those born yesterday – LAN is an electro-pop group continuously experimenting with the whole spectrum of music created in past 50 years and now touring the Europe to present their new EP Say Hello – Part One, a track in which is remixed by our local man Juri ‘Kone’ Konradi. In honor of this Zagga has prepared an exclusive set as well as long time no heard Dub:ra. Whoa-yeah!

Hell-yo, our dear dudes’n'dudettes \(^_^)/ This weekend is going to be hectic! Major electronic music archivers have a decade to celebrate and the Museum Night rush will end here at Straume.

The main local electronic music server 808.LV turns 10 and we have the honor to host its sweet birthday bomba this Friday, May the 13th. There’s no place for bad luck because the line-up is serious and of unseen length. Premises of both Dirty Deal cafe and Straume will be audio-guided by the biggest supporters of the server and its creator, Deep-Z. Most of the names need no intro, so here goes the glorious list: Ngc-5128, Mixmaster Raitis, Bufetnieks, Rimi, Nikotins, Jānis Krauklis, Deep-z, Drone, Metaphor, Sairam, Fxz, Betons, Monstrs, Brain, Melnizz. Video artists Opcode_0x90`and Wargs will animate some otherwise boring walls.

Now Saturday, after always exciting yet hectic Museum Night marathon you’re welcome to freshen up (or get wasted) at our bar and enjoy quality DJ sets from Redele, Bombey and some yet unknown ones. Redele is a man behind the very well acclaimed (Straume reccomends) radio-show Sputnik-37 on JMM internet radio and resides outside LV, so this is an exclusive chance to check him out! Last but the same hella good – Bombey will this time spin a set influenced by the German Kompakt label.

This Friday, April the 15th we are hosting a very peculiar selection of experienced men. For example, straight from Tbilisi, Georgia Levan Lomidze aka Didactic Scalica will show us the delicate, even romantic yet intrically made electronic music. Based on around 124bpm techno beats, it is decorated with a variety of ornaments from the whole spectrum of electronic sounds. A lucky star is definitely guiding us for so it happens that the very talented Martin Bakush has just re-found his muse and is ready to bring his megatons of drum-machines and synthesizers to Straume and blow your eardrums out in his two hour long analog live performance. Local support: DJ Contour with his broken electronica set.

Have some rest and return on Saturday, April 16th, because yet another talented team of DJs is coming to bang freshly painted walls of Straume out. The very well acclaimed Techno/Dubstep DJ/prducer Metaphi aka Metske is said to be melting the both genres and with it the soles of the dancers! His unique abilities have been recognized not only by the holy Mary Ann Hobbs on her BBC One Radioshow, but also released by Scandinavian labels Harmonia and Flogsta, London’s Astro:Dynamics and his own crew’s Wigflex. His specific rhythmic and gliding sonar solutions and twists create a unique and deep, intimate atmosphere not very often experienced in Riga, so don’t miss this out. Our local fellas Brain, SairaM and Hector Mirage will warm up and keep the heat up after our Nottingham guest until the miracle of sunrise. Allelujah!

Firstly, we kiss you for supporting us during the opening week-end – we didn’t expect such a dedicated crowd already. Despite all the pre-opening hustle, everything went well and we promise week by week to become more sexy and beautiful. The interior is in progress and we are still working hard. Friday, April the 8th we will phonically move to Berlin and its elegant, melodic techno, house and electro with the help of Uppfade, Salmz and Valdis from Piens. These guys definately know good, tasteful techno and if you do the same, you will find this to be one hell of a sentimental night.

While Saturday, April the 9th will gather all the indie-dance and electro-pop lovers for a spanking dance ritual. We got fcuking lucky to have Miks Mitrevics play for us, as he is visiting the city for only two days. He will share the decks with lovely Alise Ģelze, Kaspars Groševs and Indrikkis. The evening we’ve all been waiting for is near!
Friday, April 1st we want YOU to get naked in front of a selection of local DJs and VJs to celebrate the grand opening of our disco-cafe STRAUME which you will find next to Dirty Deal cafe. Starting at about 11PM, Oleg Bombey, Contour, Hector Mirage, Brain+Cliche and a fresh union of other Riga’s finest under the title of Rigas Neons will bake beats that shake. As the interior of the cafe pays tribute to the good old 80′ies disco scene, teenagers back then and VJ’s now Linards Kulless, F-1 and Peteris Kimelis will hit the screen with the best out of their VHS video archives.

For this special occasion, Straume will be unclosed for the whole weekend – parallel to the Vintage market on Saturday up to the Sunday morning. After this, Straume will be open every day from 6PM.

Saturday, 2nd of April which happens to be one of our visual minds – Linards Kuless’s birthday, we will host some lovely Lithuanian DJs from label MondayJazz. Don’t you be fooled by the title, because Tadas Quazar and Justas Fresh are electric-eclectic DJs who are good at adapting to the audience. Besides them, Artis Taurins, Pa and Nikotins will play lovely electronica, detroit techno and some ghetto electro tunes and VJs Zilums and Max Voitech will take care for those lost eyes.
